Won't Back Down

This weeks addition to the Library is "Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

It has been used in several commercials for recruiting but to me this week it really says my feelings.

I got asked at work this week "Why do you still care? You have plenty of reasons to give up but you still try, and do your best." My answer was it is my responsibility to do my best. I put the lives of three people in my hands everyday, and I want to see them go home to their families. So go ahead and think of me as a problem, or a piece of crap, because I made one mistake in 11 and half years. I DON'T CARE, what you think. I'm not going to step aside, because the idiot wants to suck dick. I'm going to do my best, and make sure the future, and carry the torch.

Till Next time.

PEACE

It's America!!!

This week I have to be a little patriotic. For those of you that have known me for a while, know that I am a pretty patriotic person. I believe in this country that I have sworn to defend for the last decade plus. This has brought another oppurtunity for me to serve it in the best way that I know how.

I have made this weeks selection "It's America" by Rodney Atkins.
Now this isn't the real video, but it works for me.

So I have been asked by several people to explain my status today so I figured I should. Today at work they asked for a volunteer to take a special job in Iraq. I gladly, and honorably choose to volunteer for this job. I am a single man, that is about to get out of the US Navy. I have no qualifications that are needed in the command, and nothing directly to hold me here. I could use the extra money that will come from this but it has not and will not be a single deciding factor on my choose.

The real reason why I'm doing this you might ask.

It is time for me to do my duty to keep everyone that I care for safe, and free of harm. That includes all of the young men and women that are over there now. There is nothing that breaks my heart more than a fatherless or motherless child when I could have done something about it.

Well I'm doing something about it. It is not official yet, but I hope it will be soon. Take care all.
Dusty
I am also going to give you a special treat by posting the reason that I have volunteered to serve in Iraq.

So I hope you all have a great week this week. Take care

I'm Alright.

Well folks I'm sorry that I haven't kept up with the weekly blog. I got into some trouble last week so I was unable to post. So, I am here to let you know that I'm still planning on continuing it.

This week I've decided that I should add "I'm Alright" by Jo Dee Messina.

In the last few months I have gotten to be very active on Facebook. With that I've been reacquainted with a lot of old friends. By old friends I'm meaning people that I've known since kindergarten or even pre-school. I have also been lucky enough to meet with them and have GREAT nights talking and catching up with them.

So I hope Ya'll enjoy the song.

TILL NEXT TIME!

A Homestead of Dreams!

As I am writing this, I'm sitting at a desk that was handmade in love. The man that created it, also built the beautiful house that it is in. The decor of the house was not done by some fancy decorator, it was done by the woman that loves the creator. During the designing of the house the childern where asked what they wanted and they were given it, in the rooms of their choice. The floorplan is older than most of us alive today, but the structure is more sound than the newest of buildings. This is my HOMESTEAD!

It was started many years ago, and to this day it is not finished. Inside the walls that were built with love, desire, honor, comittment, and the true meaning (in my soul) of family, greater dreams have been accomplished. They have seen professional athletes, politicians, successful business men, millionares, and the best of them that have been here would have to be the common everyday person.

As some of you may know, and I hope some of you are new reading this don't, this is the house I was raised in. Even in this bad market today, it will worth a dream that most of us could not afford. To me, and I hope my friends and family, I hope they feel it is priceless. The memories that were created here, the dreams that were shared, the dreams that were dreamed, and even the ones that were accomplished by my family, have some part here.

This house is one for history. It is one of dreams from the past and from the future. Even though I am bias in the decision, I have to say there isn't a building in Martin County or even in the World that I have seen that compare to it.

It is my dream, my salvation, my hope, and my future. If you get a chance to see it, I hope you understand.

Good Night All.
